ArmInfo.Theatron, Francophone International Performing Arts Festival, will be held this year from October 22 to November 3 in several Armenian cities: Yerevan, Kapan, Goris, and Gavar.
The festival aims to strengthen cultural dialogue between Armenia and the Francophone world through new platforms for creative meetings and collaboration. The festival is organized by the French Sate-Atre theater association and the Armenian Art-Image cultural NGO.
The festival program features dance, performance, and dramaturgy directed by world-renowned French choreographers Mourad Merzouki, Yoann Bourgeois, and Kader Attou. The Kapan Drama Theater will present a play by French playwright Nathalie Fillon, in collaboration with two Armenian playwrights, Anush Aslibekyan and Ani Arakelyan. The Gavar Drama Theater will feature a performance by Belgian playwright Genevieve Damas. The program also includes a presentation of a collection of plays by three Francophone playwrights translated into Armenian.
The Swiss theater troupe Cie La Temeraria, which specializes in staging performances for children in hospitals, will also participate in the festival. They will present their play at the R. Yolyan Hematology Center and hold a master class at the Loft Center.
The main sponsor of the festival is the Yerevan Municipality. The festival is supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, Ararat Bank, the Embassy of France in Armenia, the French Institute, the Embassy of Belgium in Armenia, and other organizations.
