
ArmInfo. The 10th international cultural and educational forum "Children of the Commonwealth" is being held in Belarus. Each day of the forum is dedicated to the culture and history of one of the CIS countries. On July 10, the Day of the Republic of Armenia was held at the forum. This was reported by the press service of the Secretariat of the IPA CIS Council
It is noted that the Speaker of the Armenian Parliament Alen Simonyan sent a greeting to the participants, emphasizing that the younger generation is shaping the future of the CIS countries and it depends on them how fair, peaceful and creative it will be.
"Your energy and desire for new knowledge are a guarantee that good-neighborliness, respect and cooperation between our peoples will only grow stronger," the speaker said in his welcoming speech.
The delegation representatives introduced the children to the culture of their country. Through the performance "Armenia: History in Dance" they showed the history of the emergence and development of the ancient state. The children spoke about the strength of spirit of the Armenian people, national customs and traditions, as well as the contribution of Armenian soldiers to the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
Schoolchildren took part in master classes prepared by the delegation from Armenia: they studied the basics of the Armenian alphabet, traditional dances and songs.
The 10th forum "Children of the Commonwealth" is held from July 7 to 16. This year the forum is dedicated to the theme "The 80th Anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. Memory and Unity of Generations".
It is attended by schoolchildren from Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. An extensive cultural and educational program has been prepared for the children: master classes in public speaking and acting, creative meetings with people's artists, writers, composers, dialogue platforms, intellectual games, educational trainings, music competitions and many other events.
The event is organized by the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly and the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus with the support of the Interstate Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation of the CIS countries.
