ArmInfo. We must expel those who are doing everything to weaken Armenia, as stated by Robert Kocharyan, leader of the "Armenia" bloc and second President of the Republic of Armenia, during the election campaign.
According to him, the current situation in and around Armenia is far more serious than it might appear at first glance. Five years ago, no one would have even imagined that the authorities would attack a church. He noted that just five years ago, no one could have imagined that the authorities would launch attacks against the Church. "Could anyone have thought that Mount Ararat would be pitted against Mount Aragats? Most likely, no one would have had such a thought, yet the symptoms of these future developments were already present back then. In 2021, the Ministry of Culture was dissolved, and we should have asked ourselves: why did they do this? Now it is becoming clear that it was done to undermine our national identity. Five years ago, the Ministry of Diaspora Affairs was closed, and today it is obvious this was aimed at severing ties between the Diaspora and Armenia. The Ministry of Agriculture was also liquidated, and today we see the fallout in rural communities, which are experiencing a decline across all indicators. Could the ultimate objective of these steps be to clear a path for 300,000 Azerbaijanis? By setting out to eliminate our identity, the authorities are banking on the assumption that the people will tolerate this as they integrate these individuals into the Republic of Armenia," Kocharyan stated.
