ArmInfo. Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova has called Western accusations that Russia is waging a campaign against Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan cynical.
When asked to comment on accusations that Moscow has allegedly launched a campaign against Pashinyan, Zakharova urged to look instead at how the Prime Minister treats his own citizens.
"Let us look at the citizens of Armenia whom Pashinyan has recently been shouting at: a woman who 'should be grateful' that, as he put it, 'her head wasn't smashed in a nearby toilet around the corner.' Or that man—my heart breaks for him, look at the footage—who lost his grandson, who attended a rally at Pashinyan's own invitation, and who asked a question, only to be accused of showing up there for 550 dollars. There must be limits to cynicism when this situation is being pinned on Russia? What does Russia have to do with this?" the diplomat stated on Radio Sputnik.
