


ArmInfo. An 8.5-hectare forest is set to be established near the Nubarashen Highway. Sirarpi Haykazyan, the Head of the Nature Protection Department at the Yerevan Municipality, made this statement at a working meeting on April 6.
The project envisages planting 10,000 trees. Currently, work on installing an irrigation system, constructing a pumping station, and building a 50-cubic-meter reservoir has been completed. Tree planting is scheduled for the end of April.
Haykazyan noted that the project is being implemented with co-financing from the Yerevan Municipality and funds provided by the Ministry of Environment of Armenia. During the meeting, Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan emphasized that in recent years, the city's green space has been replenished with 21,000 trees and 60,000 square meters of green space.
