ArmInfo. French journalist Ulysse Manes and Le Figaro journalist Adrien Briand, at a meeting with Acting President of Artsakh and Speaker of the National Assembly Ashot Danielyan, confirmed their readiness to continue covering events around Artsakh and present the current situation to the international community.
According to the Artsakh parliament's press service, the meeting took place at the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) representative office in Yerevan, where the journalists attended the presentation of the book "Letters from a Paradise Where There Is No One: Stepanakert-Paris," co-authored by Ulysse Manes and writer Hermine Avagyan, a member of the Artsakh Public Council.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the situation around Artsakh and the need to raise international awareness. The interlocutors noted that the French newspaper Le Figaro has covered this topic since the beginning of the Artsakh movement and continues to do so, presenting the truth as often as possible.
The Artsakh representatives thanked the journalists for their activism and constant attention to the Artsakh issue during this difficult period. They noted that the Artsakh issue remains unresolved, and it is important that this issue be kept on the international agenda.
Also present at the meeting were Vice Speaker of the Artsakh National Assembly Gagik Baghunts, Advisor to the Speaker of the NKR Parliament Ara Puluzyan, and other members of the Public Council, Nare Simonyan and Alvard Zakaryan.
As a reminder, on September 19, 2023, Azerbaijan launched another act of aggression against Artsakh under the pretext of an "anti-terrorist operation." This followed a nearly 10-month blockade of the republic. Since the enemy aggression that began in the fall of 2020, which culminated in the complete ethnic cleansing of Artsakh in September 2023, over 150,000 Artsakh residents have lost their homeland and become refugees.
