


ArmInfo. Representatives of the Armenian Ombudsman, on behalf of Human Rights Defender Anahit Manasyan, conducted an unannounced rapid response visit to the Yerevan Garrison Hospital of the Ministry of Defense in response to a complaint from the family of a serviceman.
According to the Armenian Ombudsman's Office, the call concerned the serviceman's health, the organization of medical care, and the protection of his rights. During the visit, the Ombudsman's representatives met with the hospital's medical staff to discuss issues related to the progress of medical examinations, the medical care provided, and the determination of his future fitness for military service, taking into account the serviceman's existing health issues.
Representatives of the Ombudsman's Office also held a one-on-one meeting with the serviceman, who, among other things, expressed concerns regarding his health. According to the source, the issues raised were discussed on-site with medical personnel to arrange the necessary medical examinations and determine the next course of treatment.
"Necessary steps are currently being taken to properly resolve the remaining issues related to the protection of the soldier's rights and ensure appropriate resolution. The complaint review process is ongoing with the Office of the Ombudsman of Armenia. His health and medical care remain the Ombudsman's immediate concern," the Ombudsman's office concluded.
