ArmInfo. Artur Avanesyan (Kandaz), the legendary Artsakh intelligence officer, holder of the Second Degree "Combat Cross" Order, and head of the "Strong Armenia" security team, has presented the six principles of Samvel Karapetyan's "Strong Peace" security program.
During the presentation of the principles, Avanesyan noted that he knows firsthand what it means to be an Armenian soldier and officer. Having dedicated 30 years of his life to serving his homeland, he is well aware of the enemy's strengths and weaknesses. "We need an army that knows the enemy and acts accordingly. While serving in Artsakh, I came to understand the essence of my mission every day. A strong army begins not with medals, but with willpower. Armenia is going through difficult times, and there are forces around us that want to see us divided, weak, and on our knees. External and internal threats have not yet receded, but who is our number one enemy? Not our neighbor, but the weakness and self-doubt in our own strength imposed on us," he said.
Avanesyan noted that Karapetyan's political force has developed six key principles for strengthening Armenia's security. "First, we propose implementing a comprehensive 'smart border' system to reduce the human factor and ensure border integrity. Equip the border with AI-based sensor networks and automated strike systems. Second, create an intelligence and forecasting system for early warning of threats. Third, implement a unified command and control system for the army on the ground and in the air, as well as in the information space," the officer noted.
Avanesyan named the creation of a domestic military-industrial complex as a fourth priority, which will reduce Armenia's dependence on other countries in crisis situations.
The fifth priority should be protecting the skies,, since experience has shown that when the air space is not protected, the Armenian soldier is not protected as well. Air defense systems, electronic warfare systems, and drone hunters are needed. "Sixth, for me, it's a matter of honor to restore the honor of the Armenian soldier in society, his competitiveness, and the attractiveness of military service. It's impossible to have a strong army with weak leadership. It's simply unrealistic. The army will become a place for professional growth and a guarantor of high social status," the officer noted, adding that a strong army doesn't start wars, but prevents them. In conclusion, he emphasized that he can't sleep soundly today because Armenia is under threat.
