ArmInfo. Working with Diaspora youth is much more effective than working with older people and tends to contribute to the strengthening of Armenian statehood. This was stated by Zareh Sinanyan, High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs, at a March 17 meeting of the RA National Assembly Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Diaspora, Youth, and Sports.
He stated that this is obvious, as young people are not burdened by the Armenian people's past or complexes. As an example, Sinanyan cited the "Young Ambassador" program, which has proven its effectiveness. Today, there are five traditional structures in the Diaspora that cannot come to terms with Armenian reality and attempt to obstruct the work of state institutions. Nothing of the sort is happening with young people.
Sinanyan noted that the youth's visits to their historical homeland and their meetings with members of the National Assembly and government members leave a lasting impression on them. The next such group will arrive at the end of August this year.
