2025 very productive in terms of developing Armenia-US strategic  partnership

ArmInfo.  Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan visited the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on February 7 to discuss the ministry's 2025 activity report.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Ararat Mirzoyan presented the main  directions of the work carried out in 2025, achievements, ongoing and  planned programs and tasks in the current year, according to  priorities.

The most important developments recorded in the peace process were  touched upon.  Minister Mirzoyan emphasized that the number one  priority was serving the peace agenda, active work aimed at  establishing, strengthening and institutionalizing peace between  Armenia and Azerbaijan, including the negotiation process,  coordination of the text of the peace agreement and its initialing,  the Washington agreements in general, steps and initiatives aimed at  strengthening trust, and promoting interconnection. The intensive  process of normalizing relations with Turkey, developments, and  expectations were touched upon.

Regional developments and the development of strategic partnership  with the other two neighbors, Georgia and Iran, were touched upon.  Key issues of the bilateral agenda and regional issues were  discussed.

It was noted that in the reporting year, the efforts of the Ministry  of Foreign Affairs were aimed both at consistently deepening  relations with traditional partners and at developing strategic  partnerships in new directions. It was emphasized that the year was  distinguished by the intensity of high-level mutual visits and  contacts, which significantly contributed to the enrichment of  bilateral agendas and increased involvement in new formats of  cooperation.

Minister Mirzoyan emphasized that the year was very productive in  terms of developing the Armenia-US strategic partnership, which has  provided concrete tangible results and will continue in the current  year. The achievements recorded during the year in deepening the  Armenia-EU partnership were summarized with satisfaction, which was  also expressed at the end of the year with the adoption of a new  strategic agenda for the Partnership. In addition to the partnership  with the EU as an integration structure, the importance of the  development of cooperation with European countries, the steps and  achievements already taken towards the development of strategic  partnership with several examples, was emphasized, highlighting the  ongoing dynamics in that direction already in 2026.

It was emphasized that in line with the balanced and balancing policy  of the Republic of Armenia, partnering relations have also developed  in the Asian and Middle Eastern directions, where active work has  been carried out both in expanding the political agenda and in  developing the regional communications network, and in the best  realization of the potential of economic and investment cooperation.  It was noted that the Republic of Armenia strives to develop friendly  relations with the Russian Federation based on mutual respect and  respect for sovereignty.

The Prime Minister was presented with the active involvement of the  Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia in  multilateral platforms, including through initiatives to promote a  new, positive agenda, as a result of which significant achievements  have been recorded, both in the form of the election of the Republic  of Armenia in various structures and the adoption of resolutions  initiated by the Republic of Armenia.

It was emphasized during the discussions that in the context of the  development of bilateral partnerships, attention has been paid both  to ensuring the active dynamics of political dialogue and to  realizing opportunities in economic and sectoral directions.

Reference was also made to the important high-level events held in  Yerevan in 2025 and to be held in 2026, in particular the 8th Summit  of the European Political Community, the 17th Conference of the  Parties to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity, the "Yerevan  Dialogue" initiated by the foreign ministry of Armenia, which is held  for the third year.

It was noted that during 2025, Armenia continued to take concrete  steps aimed at expanding the diplomatic presence of the Republic of  Armenia: new resident embassies were established in Cyprus, Hungary  and Oman. Within the framework of the same policy, as well as the  policy of continuous improvement of the conditions of the diplomatic  service bodies, a new building of the Armenian diplomatic  representation in Brussels was acquired, and the renovation works of  the embassy building acquired in Paris in 2024 continued.

Reference was made to the work aimed at continuous improvement of the  consular service and services provided to the citizens of the  Republic of Armenia.

The Prime Minister was also presented with the work carried out by  the Diplomatic School of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the  Republic of Armenia, as well as the work carried out to ensure  effective public communication, including in the international press,  and its indicators.

After the presentation of the report, an exchange of views took  place. The upcoming tasks of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in key  areas and medium-term programs were outlined.

Prime Minister Pashinyan emphasized the importance of consistently  implementing the outlined foreign policy priorities and continuously  improving the diplomatic service in all the above-mentioned areas.  The Prime Minister attached importance to the continuous  implementation of foreign policy priorities, taking into account the  new realities and opportunities emerging in the region and the world.
