


ArmInfo. Armenian Environment Minister Hambardzum Matevosyan met with the UK Environment Minister, Mary Greg, to discuss ways to engage international partners in preparations for the 17th Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (COP-17).
As Matevosyan posted on his Facebook page, the high-level meeting also discussed prospects for enhancing cooperation, capacity development, coordinating professional agendas, as well as the organizational and political support formats necessary to ensure the success of the summit.
"Such dialogue is vital to ensuring that COP-17 becomes a conference with a lasting impact, benefiting both Armenia and the region, while advancing the global biodiversity agenda," the Minister noted.
During the meeting, the parties also reviewed the progress of previously reached agreements, summarizing the steps taken and identifying areas where practical work needs to be accelerated. They also outlined a roadmap for joint actions in the next stage of preparation.
