ArmInfo. Armenia has approved the National Immunization Program for 2026-2030 and the draft procedure for obtaining a preventive vaccination certificate. The corresponding decision was made during a government session on January 15.
According to RA Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan, the government's decision confirms one of the most important public health guarantees-the national vaccination schedule-as well as the format for issuing international vaccination certificates. The decision also outlines goals to uphold high vaccination rates for children aged 0-1 and prevent the occurrence of dangerous infectious diseases. "In recent years, new and advanced vaccines have been included in the national vaccination schedule, including the latest generation of combined hexavalent vaccines, which reduce the need for multiple doses," the Minister said. She also noted the importance of chickenpox vaccination, which is already included in the national vaccination schedule.
According to the Minister, efforts to vaccinate and raise public awareness are already yielding results. "In particular, in 2025, the vaccination rate for children aged 0 to 1 year was 95.1%, which is the highest figure since 2011," she noted. She also mentioned that Armenia is ensuring the availability of vaccine supplies necessary for travel to other countries and providing the relevant international certificates.
In turn, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan added that in the case of COVID, measles, chickenpox, and seasonal flu, adults decide for themselves whether to be vaccinated or not. "They should contact their local clinic, and we will provide this vaccination free of charge," the head of the cabinet said.
