


ArmInfo. The Rescue Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia reported on the situation on the country's roads.
Specifically, according to the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as of the morning of January 8, roads leading from the Amberd high-altitude weather station in the Aragatsotn region to the Amberd Fortress and Lake Kari are closed. Icy conditions are observed on roads in Aparan, Aragats, Vanadzor, Spitak, Tumanyan, Tashir, Sevan, Chambarak, Martuni, Gavar, Abovyan, Hrazdan, Nairi, Vayk, Sisian, Goris, Ashotsk, and Amasia.
The Vardenyats Pass is closed to trucks, and access for other types of transport is restricted. "We strongly recommend that drivers use only winter tires," the statement reads.
According to information received from the Department of Emergency Situations of the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs and the North Ossetian branch of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, the Stepantsminda-Lars highway is open to all types of vehicles.
