Armenia President  holds talks with  Prime Minister of Georgia,  Speaker of Parliament 

ArmInfo. Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan, who is currently on an official visit to Tbilisi, held talks with Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze and Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili.

According to Georgia's First Channel, citing the press service of the  Georgian government administration, a private  meeting between  Khachaturyan and Kobakhidze focused on the long-standing  good-neighborly relations between Georgia and Armenia, as well as the  positive dynamics of their strategic partnership. The special  importance of peace and stability in the region was emphasized.  Irakli Kobakhidze expressed gratitude to Vahagn Khachaturyan for his  visit to Georgia and his support. "We are pleased that relations  between our countries are developing dynamically. Of course, frequent  high-level exchanges of visits are proof of this. Thank you for  coming to Georgia; your personal support is very important to us. Our  relations are actively developing both politically and economically  in various areas. We have very close cooperation with the government  of Armenia. We are confident that at this pace, we will achieve great  success in enhancing our relations in the future," Irakli Kobakhidze  stated.

The President of Armenia emphasized the importance of deepening  bilateral relations further. "I am convinced that high-level meetings  strengthen our relations and create new opportunities. We are making  every effort to support the strengthening and deepening of bilateral  ties. Rest assured, there will be no change in the attitudes and  approaches of the Armenian side. Our shared desire is for peace and  stability to reign in the region, and for domestic political  stability to be maintained. I believe that the people of both Georgia  and Armenia will appreciate the efforts of their governments aimed at  protecting the sovereignty and independence of our countries,"  Khachaturyan noted. Meanwhile, according to the parliament's press  service, Papuashvili welcomed the opportunity for the Armenian  President to visit the Georgian parliament for a second time during  his meeting with Khachaturyan and noted that the meeting took place  amidst intensive cooperation between the two countries and the  positive dynamics in the South Caucasus region.

The meeting reportedly emphasized the frequent high-level and  top-level visits,  confirming the traditional friendship between  Georgia and Armenia.

Shalva Papuashvili stated that in a changing world, where the  rules-based international order faces numerous challenges, Georgia  and Armenia support each other's sovereignty and territorial  integrity. The meeting also focused on the fruitful parliamentary  cooperation between the two countries, including between the speakers  of parliament and between committees and friendship groups.

The Armenian President emphasized the need  to protect their national  interests and use the current situation to achieve positive results   in a changing world influenced by external forces. He also stressed  the importance of passing on the strong friendship between Georgia  and Armenia to future generations. The parties stated that both  countries are well aware of the value of peace and, accordingly,  treat its preservation with particular responsibility. The meeting  discussed the situation in the region, highlighting the importance of  the signing of the peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan, as  well as the positive dynamics in relations between Armenia and  Turkey. The parties noted their shared position that the South  Caucasus region, where the three countries closely interact, will  become more appealing and offer numerous economic opportunities. It  was emphasized that political stability is essential for economic  growth. The parties also emphasized the importance of trilateral  cooperation formats. Discussions also touched on relations between  Georgia and Armenia and the European Union, as well as the importance  of the Middle Corridor for enhancing connectivity.
