ArmInfo. Forming a new, strong government in Armenia is the only way to preserve the homeland, writes Vahe Hovhannisyan, a member of the Alternative Projects Group.
In his opinion, this cannot be achieved through amateurish ideas. "Communicating this to the general public, including the state system, to those 'not involved in politics,' will not work. Yes, sociology says that this government is finished, but for this to become a reality, serious steps are needed. First of all, we need to convey to the general public the essence of the 2026 elections and clearly articulate the mission of the new government. If we do this, we will be able to quickly change the public atmosphere, stop the cycle of legal terror, and the elections will be over before election day," the political scientist noted.
He emphasized that the resources, political thinking, and ambitions of Armenian citizens must finally coincide. This will allow us to solve this most important and simple task. "Otherwise, it turns out that there is a broad public demand for change, but there is no system that translates this broad demand into a sound agenda. It is necessary to significantly reduce the dissemination of incorrect and ill-considered ideas by non-governmental systems, at least by their leaders. Above all, we need to reach a point where the leadership of the opposition systems themselves understand what the 2026 elections represent. The upcoming elections represent two things: a significant change in Armenia's internal life and competent management of the non-military situation. From this perspective, public outreach, scenarios, and the interests of internal and external cooperation become clear. It is necessary to recognize that the mission of the future authorities is as important as it is limited. And this is, in fact, a positive development," Vahe Hovhannisyan believes.
