If we had won, our team would have been jailed - Victory bloc leader

ArmInfo.  In the Vagharshapat Community Council elections, the opposition "Victory" bloc received approximately 33% of the vote. Bloc leader Sevak  Khachatryan announced this to journalists on November 18.

According to him, a great deal of preparatory work had been done,  which enabled the bloc to secure over 10,000 votes. The politician  expressed gratitude to voters who expressed their trust in the bloc,  thereby helping to identify existing problems and take steps to  address them.  Khachatryan noted that the bloc's representatives will  not resign their mandates and will actively participate in Council of  Elders meetings. "Our representatives will be active and will prove  our case. Our participation in the Council of Elders does not  legitimize the ruling party. We stated from the outset that the  election campaign began with electoral violations, which continue to  this day, as evidenced by the political pressure on our bloc," said  Sevak Khachatryan.

As an example, he cited accusations of bribery against three bloc  members. The politician noted that he was not personally summoned for  questioning, and his home was not searched. Therefore, as the bloc  leader noted, he himself is not involved in this legal process. "The  Anti-Corruption Committee has released a statement about a criminal  case involving five individuals. Searches were conducted in the homes  of Armen Davtyan, Karen Gevorkyan, and Tigran Gevorkyan, all of whom  were on the election list. These three individuals have been charged  and released on bail. If we had won, I think our entire team would  have ended up in prison. These people, even though they were given  the opportunity to single-handedly form the government, cannot accept  the fact that there is a team in Vagharshapat that garnered 10,000  votes," said Sevak Khachatryan, adding that given the upcoming  parliamentary elections, the authorities will continue to denigrate  the "Victory" bloc.

Earlier, the Anti-Corruption Committee issued a statement announcing  that five individuals had been charged in Vagharshapat in connection  with the election bribery case. Investigative actions were carried  out against 10 members of the opposition bloc "Victory".
