ArmInfo. The 17th ReAnimania (ReA) International Animation Film and Graphic Arts Festival will be held this year from October 19 to 25.
Audiences can look forward to a week filled with animated films, workshops, exclusive projects, and meetings with leading international industry experts. The festival will kick off on October 19 at the Cinema House with an opening ceremony, followed by a screening of the Franco-Belgian film "The Magnificent Life of Marcel Pagnol" by director and animator Sylvain Chomet.
An important component of the festival will be the "MarAni" platform, designed for industry professionals. As part of the platform, the MarAni Forum will be held from October 22 to 24 at the Armenian General Benevolent Union (AGBU), where leading experts will share their experiences and knowledge, and panel discussions will be held.
Special guests at the forum will include members of the creative team of the world-famous Netflix series "Arcane" Pascal Charrue, Cecile Hergault-Essem, and Aurelien Ressencourt; one of the directors of Pixar's "Elio" Madeleine Sharafian; and Oscar-winning director Michael Dudok de Wit.
This year's MarAni Forum will also feature the CoReAct co-production platform, presenting 11 projects by Armenian animators. Participants will present their work to international experts. The best works will be awarded cash prizes. The renowned Italian comic book artist, screenwriter, director, and illustrator Lorenzo Mattotti, the author of the official poster for the 17th ReA International Festival, will also be attending the festival. Festival attendees will have the opportunity to see an exhibition of his works as part of the ReA Comics program.
Additionally, Armenian-born cartoonist and comic book author Charles Berberian, Spanish comic book artist, illustrator, and animator Fermin Solis, and Spanish director and animation artist Javier Recio Gracia will be visiting Armenia to hold workshops.
The main partner of ReAnimania is the Yerevan Municipality. The festival is supported by the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sport of the Republic of Armenia.
