


ArmInfo. During his visit to New York, Armenian Environment Minister Hambardzum Matevosyan signed a memorandum of cooperation with Norwegian Environment and Climate Change Minister Andreas Eriksen.
The Armenian Ministry of Environment's press service explained that the memorandum, in particular, provides for the exchange of information and experience, mutual visits between specialists and officials, and the implementation of joint programs and initiatives. The ministry noted that this will allow for more effective implementation of Norwegian experience and their biodiversity conservation policies, as well as advancement of the agenda stemming from the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework.
The ministry also emphasized that with the document, Armenia and Norway are laying the foundation for the implementation of practical plans and the deepening of partnerships between the two countries. In this regard, the Ministry of Environment noted that Armenia highly values Norway's leadership in combating climate change, preserving forests and biodiversity, and its key role in the global fight against plastic.
During the meeting, Matevosyan and Erisken expressed their conviction that joint steps in this direction will contribute not only to achieving common goals but also to global sustainable development.
