ArmInfo. The renovations being done in the Tsitsernakaberd memorial complex to the victims of the Armenian Genocide since May 1, 2025 are unjustified and are another way to launder money, as stated by activist Artur Chakhoyan on the grounds of the complex, providing video evidence of violations at the construction site where the work is being carried out.
He posted a corresponding video on his Facebook page, showing step by step what is actually happening on the territory of the memorial complex. "An inspection of the complex proves that it is mostly undamaged, with only minor areas needing repair. This once again proves that such a volume of work on the territory of the complex is unnecessary and unjustified. All this is a way to launder money," Chakhoyan noted, adding that the work is causing damage to those parts of the complex that were previously in good condition.
Summarizing, the activist emphasized that although the memorial really needed some reconstruction, it was necessary to do it in stages and not throughout the entire territory of the complex. He also pointed out that a significant amount is allocated for supervision of the work - over 34 million drams. "Moreover, according to the document, the work began on May 1 and must be completed in 210 days, that is, by November of this year, but the facts show that they will not be completed by this deadline. This once again proves that this is simply corruption and an irresponsible approach by the state structure towards the reconstruction of the memorial," the activist concluded.
