ArmInfo. With the support of the Human Rights Defender of Armenia, the issue of receiving social support for a citizen forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh has been resolved.
As reported by the press service of the Ombudsman of Armenia, the citizen contacted the Ombudsman, stating that his family members had submitted relevant applications to the Unified Social Service of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs in order to participate in the social support program for displaced persons. According to the applicant, the applications of some family members were satisfied, while his applications and the applications of his two minor children were rejected.
The Ombudsman's office requested clarification from the competent state body, and additional research was conducted. According to the clarification, the citizen's data was incorrectly included in the lists of persons living in Nagorno-Karabakh. With the support of the Ombudsman, it was possible to resolve the issue by including the applicant's data in the lists for payments.
"We consider it necessary to emphasize that the Human Rights Defender once again confirms his readiness to assist, within the framework of his powers, in protecting the rights of persons forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh," the statement says.
Recall that on September 19, 2023, Azerbaijan, under the pretext of an "anti-terrorist operation," committed another act of aggression against Artsakh. This was preceded by a nearly 10-month blockade of the unrecognized republic. Since the enemy aggression that began in the fall of 2020, which in September 2023 ended in the complete ethnic cleansing of Artsakh, over 150 thousand Artsakh residents have lost their homeland and become refugees.
