
ArmInfo.The Russian House in Armenia and the South Caucasus Railway (SCR) company organized an event to plant a memorial alley near the Mikoyan Brothers Museum in the Armenian village of Sanahin in the Lori region of the republic.
As reported by the press service of SCR, the Mikoyan Brothers Museum is dedicated to the life and achievements of two outstanding natives of Sanahin - Anastas Mikoyan, a prominent Soviet statesman, and Artem Mikoyan, a renowned aircraft designer.
The event brought together participants from the flagship project of Rossotrudnichestvo "New Generation", along with representatives of public organizations, schoolchildren, and volunteers. The museum was also visited by Anastas Mikoyan's grandson: the well-known musician, composer, producer and director Stas Namin He shared interesting episodes from the biography of his grandfather, about whom he has written a book, and promised to assist the museum. Acting head of the Russian House in Armenia Victoria Deripasko told journalists that a memorial alley of thuja trees was planted instead of the perished alley of boxtrees. According to the general director of the South Caucasus Railway, Alexey Melnikov, the 80 thujas symbolize the 80 years that have passed since the Great Victory. "I hope that these trees will grow and bring joy to all visitors of this wonderful museum, serving as a reminder of our great past," Melnikov noted.
