Poland ready to assist Armenia-Azertbaijan normalization 

ArmInfo.  Armenian-Polish relations are based on common values. This was stated by Armenian  President Vahagn Khachaturyan at a joint press conference with the  head of the Polish state Andrzej Duda on November 26.

According to him, Poland, which will begin presiding over the EU  Council next year, the architect of the EU Eastern Partnership  program, is an important and reliable partner of Armenia, both  bilaterally and at multilateral platforms. An important component in  bilateral relations, Khachaturyan continued, is parliamentary  diplomacy, within the framework of which there is active interaction  between the legislative bodies of the two countries.

The RA President emphasized that despite the high level of political  dialogue, there is great untapped potential in relations between  Armenia and Poland. In this context, Khachaturyan noted the  importance of the work of the intergovernmental commission on  economic cooperation, whose periodic meetings are a reliable tool not  only for intensifying trade and economic ties between the two states,  but also for identifying new areas of cooperation.

Khachaturyan emphasized that during the meeting with his Polish  counterpart, the possibility of expanding cooperation in the fields  of science and culture was discussed. He noted that the interlocutors  also discussed the situation in the South Caucasus region and in the  European space and possible ways to solve existing problems. Armenia,  the RA President continued, has a clear and consistent position on  establishing peace in the region and resolving issues through  dialogue and negotiations. In this context, the Polish side was  presented with the "Crossroads of Peace" project, which duly  presented the opportunity to establish peace and stability in the  region.

In turn, Andrzej Duda, expressing gratitude for the warm welcome,  noted that Poland emphasizes the importance of Yerevan's  rapprochement with European values. "We highly value political ties  with Armenia, and note the need to intensify them in various areas,  including economic cooperation," the Polish president said. He  expressed hope for an early agreement on a peace treaty between  Armenia and Azerbaijan, reporting on his meeting with Azerbaijani  President Ilham Aliyev in Baku within the framework of COP29. The  border delimitation process is an important aid in achieving peace  and stability not only for the South Caucasus region, but also for  the European space. Poland is ready to assist the reconciliation  process if necessary.
