At the same time, the CSTO promised that they will implement all the necessary procedures within the established time frame if Russia requests military assistance. "The transfer of the military conflict to the CSTO's area of responsibility is a new stage of escalation. Our analytical service is working around the clock.
We are closely monitoring the development of the situation and will act in accordance with the Charter of the Organization. The Secretariat and the relevant state structures of the Russian Federation exchange information in the normal course of business. If necessary, the CSTO Secretariat will implement all the procedures envisaged in such a case within the established time frame," the CSTO press service said.
The organization recalled that the issue of providing military assistance can only be raised in the event of an official request from a member state. "However, there has been no such request from Russia in connection with the situation in the Kursk region to date," the Organization summarized.
The situation in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation worsened on August 6, after the invasion of the Armed Forces of Ukraine into the territory of this border region.
