"Tavush for the Motherland" movement calls on citizens to continue  acts of disobedience

ArmInfo. The "Tavush for the Motherland" movement calls on citizens to continue acts of  disobedience against the backdrop of lawlessness on the part of the police.

"We call on our compatriots, in response to these brutal and illegal  actions of the police, to continue acts of peaceful disobedience in  all regions of Armenia, and thereby express their support and support  for our compatriots who have come out to a just fight for their  Motherland and their home," they said movement.

Early this morning the country's authorities pulled together huge  police forces in Kirants, where peaceful protests against the  unilateral concessions of the Prime Minister of Armenia to Azerbaijan  have been taking place since April 19. The police encircled the  Tavush residents blocking the Kirants-Voskepar road and detained over  two dozen men so that they would not interfere with the mine  clearance work.

The situation in Kirants continues to remain extremely tense; the  nerves of local residents have reached their peak, who believe that  the law enforcement agencies of Armenia, through their actions, are  actually opening the doors to the country to the enemy.

As it became known from the Human Rights Defender's office,  representatives of the Office of the Human Rights Defender of Armenia  went to the Ijevan police station to familiarize themselves with the  reasons for the detention on the spot.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia stated that  the Ministry of Defense of Armenia is demining the territory near the  village of Kirants, Tavush region. "Demining is carried out with the  aim of reproducing this section of the state border based on geodetic  measurements by expert groups of Armenia and Azerbaijan, as well as  carrying out work to clarify the coordinates," the department noted.

It is noted that "the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia carries  out enhanced service in the demining zones in order to prevent the  penetration of civilians into the demining zones and ensure their  safety."

Residents of the border villages of Tavush have been holding protests  on the Armenia-Georgia interstate road on the Kiran-Voskepar section  since April 19. They oppose the border delimitation option agreed  upon by Yerevan and Baku, as a result of which strategic heights will  pass to Azerbaijan and Armenian villages will be completely or  partially surrounded. Residents of Tavush have been spending the  seventh night on the blocked Voskepar-Kirants road.
