Russian MP Konstantin Zatulin responds to Armenia`s ex-premier 

ArmInfo. Deputy of the State Duma of Russia Konstantin Zatulin responded to an open letter from  the Chairman of the Karabakh Committee, the first Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, Minister of Defense of the Republic of Armenia (1992-1993) Vazgen Manukyan.

Zatulin's response letter, in particular, says: "Dear Vazgen  Mikaelovich! I cannot help but respond to your letter. It doesn't  matter whether it is open or not, in any case, your letter touches on  the most precious thing - my faith in the relations between the  Russian and Armenian peoples.

These two Christian peoples have suffered a lot in their history.  And, like Christ, they continue to suffer.  For hundreds of years we  have been together, both in joy and in sorrow. But now, both here and  here, people for whom this is not important are gaining weight.

You reproach Russia for the fact that its behavior since 2020 "does  not correspond to the concepts of an ally", considering that the  withdrawal of our armed forces from Karabakh puts "the last dot on  the i". This is a foreign letter, it is not in our alphabets. You, of  course , you know that I and people like me, like- minded people in  Russia, least of all wanted such an ending to our peacekeeping  operation in Karabakh, but the exodus of first the Armenians, and  then the Russians from Karabakh, after everything that happened after  2020 and, especially, 2022-2023 was predetermined.

This is the sad truth. And I don't want to list the reasons and  reasons in a short letter. repeating after you and adding your own.  Neither Griboyedov nor Bagramyan were in the right place at the right  time. I could return to today's Armenia your reproach to today's  Russia, but I don't want to.

I want to save what remains in the relations between our peoples, so  that they do not become a victim of the policies of states and  governments. It's not for me to tell you what happens in politics.  But do not rush to bury hope, do not bring doubt into my and our  faith - this is the guarantee of the future of Armenia and Russia. I  hope, as always, for your understanding."

Earlier, Vazgen Manukyan, in an open letter to Zatulin, noted that  the withdrawal of Russian armed forces from Nagorno-Karabakh puts the  final dot on the i's. "Even taking into account Russia's problems  associated with Ukraine, even taking into account the fact that the  leader of Armenia is an inadequate person, Russia's behavior since  2020, in my opinion, does not correspond to the concepts of an ally.   Regardless of how the confrontation in Ukraine ends, Russia is  already here lost a war that was more significant for you, showing  all the peoples of the world the "reliability" of your alliance,  opened the way and inspired the pan-Turkist movement, detrimental to  both us and Russia.
