ArmInfo. Nikol Pashinyan's coming to power was a disaster for Armenia. The change in chief negotiator  was a disaster. The remaining tragedies, the de-Armenization of Artsakh, capitulation, the humiliating position of Armenia , are only the consequences of this catastrophe.  Third President of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan, stated in a conversation with reporters on April 4, referring to Pashinyan's recent statement.

Commenting on Serzh Sargsyan's conversation with journalists on  February 16, when he said that in 2018 he had decided to run for the  post of Prime Minister of Armenia in order to prevent the impending  disaster.  "I tried to prevent the impending disaster from the  Armenian people," Prime Minister Pashinyan on February 28 in  parliament said that "It is very important that today Serzh Sargsyan  says this in retrospect".  At the same time, Pashinyan asked that if  trouble was imminent already in January 2018, then as a result of  whose activities this trouble was approaching, and why the people of  Armenia were not told about this imminent catastrophe. "Even if we  assume that during his presidency Sargsyan was constrained by a  number of obligations, it is unclear why after the 2018 revolution,  the country's public was not aware of the impending catastrophe. And  why was the new government of the country not informed about this? -  Nikol Pashinyan wondered.

According to Sargsyan, "the head of Armenia is a cosmic scale liar."  "Both he and our people were warned for the first time on April 17,  when I was elected prime minister. Then I said that the negotiation  process had been stopped. After that I explained what the problem  was. At first they didn't seem to notice this, and then they began to  take words out of context and present them as "evidence" of the  failure of the negotiations. Then, after the 44-day war, they began  to lament: look, he said that there would be hostilities, that it  would be bad, etc. They talked about this for 2 years, and now they  say that we did not warn them," he pointed.

According to Sargsyan, the second warning  he voiced at the only  meeting in the last 30 years, when at the Marriott Hotel on April 22  (2018, ed, note) he said that he (Pashinyan) had not learned a lesson  from the of March 1. "And, of course, he distorted everything, saying  that I allegedly threaten our people," added Sargsyan.

The next warning came on May 1, when Pashinyan was nominated for the  post of Prime Minister, and the MP of the RPA faction announced that  he cannot rule, cannot be the supreme commander, that this will have  tragic consequences. But he did not accept that either. "The next  reminder in direct text was in March 2020, when he literally said in  Vayots Dzor that Serzh Sargsyan and the RPA are scaring us with war.  And if we didn't say this, then where did these words come from? As  for his words that there was a person who communicated with both him  and me, then yes, there was such a person. But, unfortunately, this  person cannot testify now. I don't want to say his name: When I  personally held a press conference in the summer of 2020, I said that  military action was already approaching. What other warnings could  there be?>, concluded the 3rd President of Armenia.
