Armenia`s authorities realizing Aliyev`s agenda by starting border  delimitation from Tavush - Mane Tandilyan 

ArmInfo. Nikol Pashinyan (RA Prime Minister-ed.) states that work on border delimitation will actually  begin from the Tavush region. In essence, this is a repetition of Aliyev's (the President of the AR-ed.) statement two months ago, according to which the delimitation commission is discussing one issue - the demarcation of the Kazakh-Tovuz regions, the Chairperson of the Country for Life party, Mane Tandilyan, wrote on her Facebook  account. 

The day before, Pashinyan, at a convened press conference, commenting  on Baku's demand for the immediate "liberation of 4 villages" located  on the border of the Tavush region of Armenia and the Gazakh region  of Azerbaijan, said that there has never been and can be no talk of  surrendering any villages in Tavush region. "When the names of  villages were announced in the Azerbaijani press, there had never  been villages with such names on the territory of the Republic of  Armenia, not only in Soviet times, but also after it," he added.

At the same time, the prime minister did not rule out that  delimitation could begin with the Tavush region.  Regarding the  possibility of exchanging territories, Pashinyan said that this could  distort or lead to additional risks. In this context, in his opinion,  in order to avoid problems in the future, it is more correct to build  new communications so that they pass through the de jure territory of  the Republic of Armenia (the territories claimed by Azerbaijan are  located in the Tavush region. There is an interstate highway  connecting Armenia with Georgia - through Ijevan, Noyemberyan,  Bagratashen - Ed.).According to Pashinyan, the parties must come to  decisions according to which it is necessary to fix and recognize the  borders of Armenia de jure. "And fit de facto actions within de jure  boundaries," he said.

Mane Tandilyan emphasizes that the Tavush section of the  Armenian-Azerbaijani border has nothing to do with the last Artsakh  war and has not undergone significant changes over these 30 years.  The remaining part of the border (excluding part of Nakhichevan) was  formed after the 2020 war, and in recent years, as a result of  Azerbaijani aggression, Baku has made significant progress in this  area.

"It is obvious that Azerbaijan seeks to begin and complete  delimitation in the Tavush region. As a result, there will be  significant progress in this section, further delaying forever the  process of delimiting an important part of the border for us," the  politician notes.

According to her, it is unfortunate that the Armenian authorities are  once again fulfilling the demands of Azerbaijan, which is absolutely  unacceptable.

Tandilyan is convinced that Armenia should clarify its principles of  border delimitation, starting the process from those areas where  Azerbaijani troops are advancing as a result of military actions in  recent years.
