Zakharova: It was precisely at Westerners` instigation that not  single word was mentioned about rights and security of Karabakh  Armenians

ArmInfo. Moscow welcomes the meeting of representatives of the commission on the delimitation of  the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, held on November 30. Official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova stated on December 6 during a weekly briefing.  She stated that during this  meeting the parties agreed on methodological and organizational issues in preparation for the launch of practical work on delimitation.

In this vein, she again emphasized Moscow's readiness to provide all  possible assistance to this process, including by providing  cartographic data. According to her, this was confirmed on December 5  by the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry at a meeting with his  counterpart from Azerbaijan.

"As for the trilateral working group on unblocking regional transport  communications, co-chaired by the vice-premiers of Russia, Armenia  and Azerbaijan, as we noted earlier, significant progress has been  achieved within its framework. And if there is political will on both  sides, we could quickly complete agreeing on specific projects and  launching substantive activities. We believe that further delaying  agreements with reaching specific agreements within the framework of  a trilateral working group will work against the interests of  regional countries, including against the interests of Armenia," she  added.  Referring to the possibility of concluding a peace treaty  between Yerevan and Baku, the diplomat recalled that Moscow sent  invitations to Yerevan and Baku to organize a meeting in Moscow and  on the sidelines of multilateral events. "Baku has always confirmed  its readiness to hold negotiations. Unfortunately, we cannot say the  same about our Armenian partners. Perhaps they believe that their new  advisers from Washington, Brussels, Paris will be able to offer  something more interesting, better. I don't know ", I think that you  always need to look at the previous experience of your neighbors. We  all saw what the gatherings under the auspices of the EU, including  in Prague and Brussels, led to," Zakharova said.

At the same time, she suggested that perhaps the Armenian people are  not aware of everything, since they are not informed about  everything. At the same time, she warned against repeating the  scenario, which would lead to new "surprises." "It was at the  instigation of the Westerners that the relevant documents did not  mention a single word about the rights and security of the Karabakh  Armenians. Do they remember that now, when they want to trust Western  advisers again?" Zakharova asked.

At the same time, she assured that if these points had been spelled  out, then questions would not have arisen about what to do for people  who left their homes, relying on the Yerevan authorities, who  promised them a lot of things.

"How much and where else should Westerners show themselves so that it  becomes clear: they will never act in the interests of the peoples of  other countries. They always act in their own interests, and they  need all other countries solely to realize these goals. This is a  historically proven rule. "Perhaps I want to believe it," she  concluded.
