Artsakh president "utterly sincere" at meeting of Parliamentary  Commission for investigation of circumstances of 44-day war -  commission chairman 

ArmInfo. Artsakh President Samvel Shahramanyan was utterly sincere at the meeting of the  Parliamentary Commission for investigation of the circumstances of the 44-day war, Commission Chairman Andranik Kocharyan told reporters on Nov 24. 

According to him, the meeting of the investigative commission, taking  into account many factors, was held behind closed doors. "Now it  became clear to me why Mr. Artsvik Minasyan (secretary of the  opposition faction 'Armenia', representative of the ARF party - ed.)  did not want Shahramanyan to appear in the investigative commission.  The reality was revealed to me: on another platform, no one will ever  have the right to such information. We can say that the investigative  commission provides an opportunity to use such a platform to identify  some political realities that were not noticeable," said Andranik  Kocharyan.

He said that during the three-hour meeting, the issues that the  commission members had been working on for a long time were  exhausted. "I can say that Mr. Shahramanyan was as sincere as  possible. We discussed issues that are not even subject to  discussion," Kocharyan said.

He added that the term of office of the commission to investigate the  circumstances of the 44-day war expires on December 3. "This means  that we no longer have the right to call anyone, to receive  documents.  Everything that we have done has been done. A huge amount  of materials has been accumulated and a lot of work remains to be  done to analyze them," Kocharyan said, adding that on November 27 and  29 there are already invitees to the commission meeting, including  the ex-commander of the Artsakh Defense Army Jalal Harutyunyan.  Kocharyan pointed out Harutyunyan's readiness to answer questions  from commission members. "We are waiting for him, if we have the  opportunity before December 3, Mr. Harutyunyan is ready to appear at  the meeting," Kocharyan said.

The commission to investigate the circumstances of the 44-day war was  formed in February 2022. As part of the commission's activities, MPs  invited those responsible for the country's defense and foreign  policy in the period before and during the 2020 war to its meetings.  On May 3 of this year, the commission's activities were extended for  another 6 months.
