Armenian authorities implementing poor policy toward Diaspora - Ara  Abrahamyan  

ArmInfo. No Armenian Diaspora exists either in Russia or throughout the world. All ties with  Armenia are severed, Ara Abrahamyan, President of the Union of Armenians of Russia (UAR), told a press conference on Wednesday. 

According to him, Armenia has lost its most powerful support. "The  policy pursued by the Armenian authorities towards the Diaspora is  very weak. The statements of the current Prime Minister of Armenia  and his promises are not being implemented. The implementation of  joint projects has ceased," he noted, pointing to the disunity of the  Diaspora. In this vein, he noted that about 400 different kinds of  Armenian organizations were opened in Russia, but none of them became  successful. He conditioned this by his unwillingness to overcome the  difficulties that arose.

According to him, instead of uniting and working together for the  good of the Motherland, everyone is trying to discredit the one  standing opposite. "There is no Diaspora today, there is no  interaction with Armenia, there are no joint projects. Unfortunately,  the potential of the Diaspora is not being used," the head of the UAR  added.

He also criticized the investment environment in Armenia, noting that  there are no favorable conditions for doing business in Armenia,  nothing is being done except empty assurances from the authorities.

At the same time, Abrahamyan criticized the foreign policy of the  acting authorities of the Republic of Armenia. "For example, the last  meeting of the UN Security Council on Artsakh. For us, it had a  negative result, no document was adopted, no resolutions, no  sanctions. Our Armenian Foreign Minister did not give a worthy  assessment of the current situation. Nakhichevan, why didn't he  emphasize that Artsakh was never part of Azerbaijan. No work was done  with the members of the UN Security Council," he stressed, once again  pointing to the insufficient efforts of the Armenian side made at the  meeting of the Security Council on the situation around Artsakh.

At the same time, the head of the SAR asked, someone wondered what  would happen to the 120,000 population of Artsakh if Azerbaijan  swallowed up the NKR against the backdrop of the policy of  Armenophobia pursued by the Azerbaijani authorities.

"Today, the genocide of the Armenian people continues, and our  authorities and people are its author.  Everything depends on us.  peace, but everything will be exactly the opposite," said Abrahamyan,  recalling that today the people of Artsakh are kidnapped from their  own homes, judged, subjected to deprivation without trial or  investigation.

He was also indignant at the fact that Azerbaijanis freely visit  Armenia, while Armenians do not have such opportunities.
