Poll: More than 67 percent of respondents in Armenia expressed no  confidence in Armenian PM`s statements

ArmInfoMore than 67% of the respondents in Armenia expressed no confidence in the statements of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and the information he  presented at the last big press conference (on July 25). The head of  the MPG consulting company (the official representative of the  International Association of Gallup in Armenia) Aram Navasardyan  statedduring a press conference on August 4, presenting the results  of the survey " Eggplant Next Stop ".

In particular, the lion's share of respondents (54.4%) answered that  they definitely do not trust Pashinyan's statements, 13.1% of  respondents rather do not trust, 14.5% of respondents rather trust,  and only 16.1% of respondents expressed full confidence in the Prime  Minister. At the same time, 65% of respondents followed the press  conference of the head of government, respectively 35% ignored it.

Meanwhile, when asked which party the respondents would vote for if  parliamentary elections were held next Sunday, 13.3% of respondents  noted Civil Contract, 3.8% of respondents - the Armenia bloc, 1.8% of  respondents - Prosperous Armenia, 1.5% of respondents - I have the  honor, Public Voice and Republic, 1.2 percent each, 0.8% of  respondents - ARF-D, 0.5% of respondents - Citizen's Decision,  National Democratic Pole, ANC, Sasna Tsrer- 0.4 percent each,   Country of Living   (Aprelu Yerkir), For the Republic, Lusavor  Hayastan, Armenian eagles: United Armenia -0.2% each, - 5165,  Communist Party of Armenia and Fair Armenia-0.1% each.

At the same time, 36.3% of the respondents expressed their intention  to boycott the elections, 6.5% were not ready to vote for any of the  candidates presented, 5.4% refused to mention their candidates, 20.2%  found it difficult to answer.

But the main problems for the Armenian public are still security  issues. In particular, 32.4% of respondents consider the threat of  war the main challenge facing Armenia today, 30.7% are concerned  about the resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, 30.4% - noted  various issues related to security, 27.8% - see the need for the  clarification of boundaries.

Armenian citizens are less concerned about the economic situation in  the country (16.9% are concerned about this issue), 9.6% complain  about unemployment rate, 8.6% about low pensions, 8% about inflation,  7.2% are concerned about the return of  POWs, 6.9% - consider the  educational system inadequate, 5.1% - concerned about health care, 5%  - concerned about the change of power, 4.3% - see problems in the  army, 3.5% - in foreign policy, 1.9% - concerned about migration  issues, 1.8% - corruption, 0.7% - high taxes.  13.8% of respondents  indicated other problems, and 1% found it difficult to answer.

At the same time, everyone in Armenia is also categorical on the  issue of Nagorno-Karabakh. A total of 994.4% are against Artsakh  citizens receiving the status of a national minority within  Azerbaijan (88.9% expressed unequivocal disagreement, 5.5% noted that  they rather disagree). Only 1.1% of the respondents are not against  such an outcome of developments, while 2.7% rather agree.

Navasardyan noted that in comparison with the May poll, the number of  citizens who disagree with Artsakh joining Azerbaijan has grown. In  May this year, a similar position was expressed by 86.4% of  respondents.  In his opinion, this is due to the deepening of the  humanitarian crisis in Nagorno-Karabakh.  It should be noted that the  survey was conducted through telephone calls to residents of Yerevan  and regions from July 27 to July 31, 2023, the sample size was 1100  people, the sampling error was +/- 3%.  In 2011, MPG became the  official representative of the Gallup International Association in  Armenia. Since 2003, MPG, working in the sociological and marketing  research market, has implemented more than 800 projects of various  sizes.
