Anglo-Asian mining company one of major proponents of Artsakh blockade - Artak Beglaryan

ArmInfo. The police violations  in Soyudlu village in the Getabek region of Azerbaijan are evidence  of grave environmental, political and social problems in Azerbaijan,  Artak Beglaryan, Advisor to the President of Artsakh, wrote. 

"Beating their own used citizens since April 28, the police replaced  the terrorists near Shushi, who caused great suffering to 120  thousand people, continuing the chain of state terrorism. It is clear  that a person is not a value for the Aliyev dictatorial regime, it  doesn't matter if he is Armenian or Azerbaijani, the main thing is to  enslave people, keep power and accumulate gold.

It is important to take into account that the Getabek gold mine with  the same feudal disgrace is operated by the same Anglo-Asian mining  company, which last year the Azerbaijani authorities illegally  promised to "give" the Artsakh copper mine "Kashen", and the same  organization is one of the main culprits and supporters blockade," he  said.

Beglaryan urged to imagine what kind of ecological catastrophe, what  scale this company arranged there, that such a protest action is  being held even in such a dictatorial country?

"And the high environmental standards of the 'Kasheni' mine,  'disputed' by them, may seem like just a dream for the persecuted  population of Azerbaijan. And this criminal regime and company want  to seize the homeland and natural wealth of the people of Artsakh by  force. By the way, let me remind you that the same Getabek was once  completely Armenian and Armenian-populated territory, which was  gradually subjected to ethnic cleansing and appropriated by the  Azerbaijanis.

I am sure that these criminals, who have their eyes on foreign land  and property, are in for new surprises. I think that someday the  criminal involvement of the Aliyev clan in Anglo-Asiatic affairs will  be fully revealed. The world-famous organization OCCRP has already  made some revelations about this in the Panama Papers, revealing  that, according to the investigation, Aliyev's daughters are the  owners of this company," Beglaryan summed up.

On June 20, police officers used special equipment to disperse the  protest action of residents of the village of Soyudlu, Gadabay  district. The villagers protested against the creation of an  artificial reservoir for wastewater from an enterprise for the  extraction and processing of ore gold at the Gedabey deposit.   According to local residents, about 10 people were injured during the  confrontation. Five protesters were administratively arrested, and  another protester was fined. Later, the village was cordoned off, and  only those who provided registration data were allowed in.
