Gyumri hosts Starmus 

ArmInfo. From September 8-10, the Gyumri Technology Center (GTC) will host the STARMUS VI x co-creating the future, as part of the Starmus global science and art  festival.

According to the press service of the organizers of the Festival, the  program of the event includes speeches, panel discussions,  interdisciplinary workshops and an art exhibition called  "Dragonstone's Message".

The main speakers will be American astronaut Charlie Duke (Apollo16),  co-creator of the iPod, co-founder of the iPhone Tony Fadell,  director of the Carl Sagan Institute Lisa Kaltenegger, professor of  planetary geology Alfred McEwan. The Syzygy rock band will close the  first day of the event with a concert.

On September 9-10, interdisciplinary seminars and master classes on  the topic "Neurology", "Sustainable Materials", "Metasystems",  "Virtual Reality" will be held with the participation of young  researchers, specialists, students in the field of science and art.

The event in Gyumri is hosted by the Enterprise Incubator Foundation  and the Gyumri Technology Center.  It should be noted that within the  framework of Starmus daily from 11:00 to 13:00 lectures are held for  schoolchildren and students in numerous educational institutions of  Armenia with the participation of Nobel Prize winners, outstanding  scientists, astronauts, astrophysicists, etc.  The curriculum can be  found at the following link: https://starmus.com/city-program

Recall that this year Starmus is dedicated to the 50th anniversary of  the first mission to Mars.  More than 50 scientists visited Armenia,  including Nobel Prize winners, astronauts, artists and world-famous  musicians. The festival opened with a welcoming speech by Armenian  Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, followed by the ceremony of  presenting the Stephen Hawking Medal, which was awarded to the  guitarist of the legendary rock band Queen Brian May for his  contribution to the popularization of science Astrophysicist Garik  Israelyan and guitarist of the legendary band Queen, astrophysicist  Brian May, founded the STARMUS festival. The festival brings together  world-famous scientists, Nobel Prize winners, thinkers, astronauts,  scientists, culture and art. Within the framework of the festival,  scientists share their knowledge, experience and latest discoveries  with the public.
