Expert: The calculations of the West are correct; it is the Armenian  hopes that are illusory

ArmInfo. The main crisis that our nation is experiencing today is a moral and psychological crisis. A similar opinion was expressed to ArmInfo by  head of the  International Center for Human Development Tevan Poghosyan.

"I am convinced that it is, of course, possible to stop all this. For  what purpose each of us must decide on our own intentions, actions  and what kind of Armenia we want to see in the future. And, of  course, we should always remember that the superpowers in all their  actions always proceed from their own interests, not the interests of  the Armenian people,"  he noted.

In the expert's opinion, the reasons for the refusal of the US and  French ambassadors to visit the occupied Shushi at the invitation of  Baku should also be sought exclusively in American and French  interests, rather than in Armenian ones. Poghosyan is convinced that  Western calculations are accurate, while it is the Armenian  calculations or rather hopes, that are erroneous and illusory.

In this light, Poghosyan noted that observing and trying to analyze  the latest information flows related to these events, one gets the  impression that Armenia already habitually relies on anyone but  itself. In this light, he pointed out, in fact, the lack of the  intentions and actions of the Armenian government and society in the  public discourse,.

The expert explains this state of affairs by the lack of statehood,  as a result of the lack of politicization of the Armenian nation.  Meanwhile, according to his forecasts, it will be possible to change  the way of thinking of Armenians only by turning Armenia into a  politicized nation. First of all, in terms of laying hopes for  ensuring one's own security, not on others, but on oneself.

"Who, in the end, will fight for Artsakh if the current leadership of  Armenia does not? Certainly not the United States. In this light, I  absolutely do not see any difference between the new or the old US  co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group. We talk about everything, about  anything, but not about our own benefit, about our interests, not  personal, but public ones. And our only resource for ensuring these  interests is national unity, which was broken into such small pieces  that now it is not clear whether it can be put back together again,"  Pogosyan summed up.
