Hayk Khanumyan: State bodies have more information than Facebook  activists

ArmInfo. The inability to analyze facts and circumstances, wittingly or unwittingly, made  social network users soldiers of the information war waged against  the state bodies of Artsakh. Minister of Territorial Administration  and Infrastructures of Artsakh Hayk Khanumyan wrote about this on his  Facebook page, commenting on the situation around Berdzor and  Aghavno, which will come under the control of Azerbaijan in the  coming days.

<Since the misinformation and targeted information attacks have gone  too far, I will publish some facts. In mid-August, electricity in  Aghavno was disconnected from the Berdzor substation, Aghavno and  Berdzor began to receive electricity through the line coming from  Stepanakert. A few days later, the fire burned the power poles and  destroyed the newly laid line. Transformer oil was stolen in Berdzor.  The fire that broke out in Berdzor created serious threats to the  high-voltage power line running from Armenia to Artsakh. A  fiber-optic cable was stolen in the Aghavno region, due to which  there was no Internet in Artsakh for some time. Communication towers  were looted and destroyed by scrap metal thieves," the minister said.

He continued that the authorities of the republic, state bodies urged  not to set fire to houses, not to demolish, not to plunder the  infrastructure. <Government agencies have more information and  consider more circumstances when making decisions than Facebook  activists. Unfortunately, information terror has significantly  weakened the ability of state institutions to respond to challenges,  which is one of the shortcomings of the management system. And as a  result, it turns out that some renegade "activist" can take a taxi,  come to Aghavno or Berdzor, set a fire there, and be more patriotic  than employees of state institutions who ensure the smooth operation  of infrastructures, live with their families in Artsakh, participated  in war and participate daily in security decision-making. The  inability to analyze facts and circumstances has made our social  media users willingly or unwittingly soldiers of the information war  waged against the state bodies of Artsakh>, Khanumyan wrote.

He added that at a time when disinformation and manipulation begin to  play a big role, power ceases to exist.

<Even people who solve urgent problems can be destroyed overnight by  a disinformation attack. In this case, the only way out is to  strengthen the potential of state institutions, to strengthen the  positions of state institutions. The war against these bodies, which  we are witnessing these days, is a war against the authorities with  the greatest organizational potential in Artsakh>, the Artsakh  minister emphasized.
