Armenia`s premier enjoys much less confidence, but ruling party  remains favorite - MPG

Armenia`s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan enjoys much less confidence now, but most of the respondents would still support the ruling party Civil Contract  should elections b held now, according to a poll by the Marketing  Professional Group (MPG), exclusive representative of GALLUP  International Association in Armenia.

The poll covered three periods: November 2021, May 2019, and  September 2018, which enabled more accurate tracking of public  sentiments and attitude to political reality and state leaders.  In  November 2021, 46% of the respondents clearly said that their  post-revolutionary expectations were not realized (against 18.3% in  May 2019 and 10.9% in September 2018). According to 3.1% of the  respondents their expectations were fulfilled (6.6% in May 2019 an  14.4% in September 2018). The ratio between the realized and  unrealized expectations was 33.7%10.2% (61.4%/11.4% in May 2019, and  64.2%/7.6% in September 2018).

9.5% of the respondent welcomed the premier`s work (29.9% in May  2019, and 45.4% in September 2018), and 31.3% voiced strongly  negative opinions (5.1% and 2.4% respectively). 28.6% of the  respondents were inclined to positive than negative assessments of  the premier`s work (54.3% and 46,2% respectively), 14.9% were more  inclined to negative than positive assessments (8.2% and 3.9%  respectively). 15.9% of the respondents found it difficult to answer  (2.4% and 2.1%).

14.7% of the respondents completely trust the premier against 39.9%  in May 2019 and 60.2% in 2018. As regards the citizens that distrust  the premier, the opposite picture can be observed. This November,  39.4% of the respondents said they did not trust the premier (6.2% in  2019 and 3.5% in 2018). 10.2% of the respondents could not answer the  question (2.3% and 1.5% respectively). As to Armenia`s Cabinet, it  enjoys much less confidence than three years ago. According to the  poll results, only 7.8% of the respondents trust the authorities  (against 15.5% in May 2019 and 26.5% in September 2018). 10.7% of the  respondents could not answer the question (3.8% and 4.6%  respectively). 

Nevertheless, 25% of the respondents said they would vote for the  ruling party Civil Contract in case elections were held now. 14.4% of  the respondents would vote for the Armenia bloc, 3.3% for the With  Honor bloc, 1.7% for Prosperous Armenia, 1.6% for the Armenian  National Congress, 1.4% for the Republic party, etc. Besides, 20.2%  of the respondents could not answer the question, 17.9% refused to  answer.  

The poll was conducted by telephone November 16 to 27, 2021. Sample  size 1101, sample error +/- 3%.
