Yerevan waits for Ankara`s reaction to publications about developing  ALTAY plan to attack Armenia 

ArmInfo. Turkey should be the first to react to the publication by the Swedish website of certain documents testifying to the development by Ankara of a plan  of attack on Armenia. Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan  announced on December 2 at a joint press conference with his  counterpart from Jordan, to a request to express a position on this  issue.

At the same time, the chief diplomat stated that he could neither  deny nor confirm the authenticity of this publication. "There is no  need to say that the issue is of serious concern, we will continue to  monitor the situation. But the first reaction should come from  Turkey," the minister stressed.

It should be noted that the author at Nordic Monitor, Abdullah  Bozkurt, published information on the plan of the Turkish General  Staff for an air attack on Armenia, which, according to the article,  was drawn up in 2001 and is still valid. The Greek media regarded the leak as a sensation, which indicates  that Armenia will become the second target after Syria and that this  plan is quite realistic. Meanwhile, the Turkish pro-government media,  reacting to the publication of Nordic Monitor, called the journalists  of this website traitors who betray Turkey, thereby going against the  national interests of the country. It is also noteworthy that the  Turkish media do not refute the information about the preparation of  the plan of attack on Armenia, but blame the authors of the  publication for state treason. It is also known that the Swedish  edition of Nordic Monitor is coordinated by Turkish journalists, all  of which are supporters of the Gulen FETO movement.

Mnatsakanyan also reacted to the attacks of his Turkish counterpart  Mevlut Cavusoglu regarding the process of normalizing relations with  Armenia and accusations of failure of the Zurich protocols by  Yerevan. The Armenian Foreign Minister considers, at least, strange  the similar behavior of the Turkish side, which itself failed the  Zurich protocols, putting forward preconditions. "All this is very  strange. After all, this time everything happened under our eyes and  not 100 years ago. We all witnessed, including the international  community. Everything is very fresh in our memory. How it happened 10  years ago and what followed this. This is today's story. If people  representing the Turkish state do not hesitate to distort the history  of our days, do not respect the obligations and their own signature,  blaming others of the failure of the process, then it is obvious why  the events occured 100 years ago are distorted, suggestions are made  to reconsider them, proposals are made to establish a commission of  historians. '' the head of the Foreign Ministry said.

At the same time, the RA Foreign Minister stressed that there are no  contradictions in the position of Armenia. He recalled that  initially, Yerevan announced its readiness to normalize relations  with Ankara without preconditions and adhered to this line. ''We said  that we agreed to normalize relations without preconditions. But for  this you need 2 sides. And their policies work in a different  direction. Turkey's threat is manifested in its policies, actions and  rhetoric. What is happening before our eyes: the ongoing blockade,  the lack of desire to normalize relations, unconditional military  assistance to Azerbaijan in the context of the Nagorno-Karabakh  conflict, all this generally reflects the meaning of the phrase "a  threat to the security of Armenia." Armenia expressed its position  and is committed to it. As for the Zurich protocols, Turkey refused  them, " Mnatsakanyan summarized.

It should be noted that the Armenian-Turkish protocols were signed in  Zurich on October 10, 2009.  However, the protocols were never  ratified by the parliaments of Armenia and Turkey, since Ankara  constantly put forward preconditions on the way to ratification. In  this regard, by order of President Serzh Sargsyan, the process of  ratification of the protocols in the Armenian parliament was frozen.  And in February 2015, they were completely recalled from parliament.  In the second half of 2017, RA President Serzh Sargsyan from the  rostrum of the UN General Assembly said that Armenia would meet the  spring of 2018 without the Armenian-Turkish protocols, since there  was no positive shift in their implementation.  And at the end of  February 2018, Sargsyan announced the denunciation of the  Armenian-Turkish protocols.
