RA President in Nur-Sultan: We are a small country, but we are a  global nation (video)

ArmInfo.At the invitation of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of the Republic of Armenia Armen Sarkissian, on May 16,  took part in the 12th annual economic forum in Nur-Sultan.

As the press service of the RA President reports, this year the  economic forum is held under the motto "Inspiring growth: people,  cities, economies". The forum is attended by current and former heads  of state, governments, international organizations, business leaders  and economists discussing global trends and global structural  changes. The main speakers of the plenary session were Armenian  President Armen Sarkissian, Kazakhstan's first president Nursultan  Nazarbayev, Georgian Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze, IMF Managing  Director Christine Lagarde, First Vice Premier of the People's  Republic of China Han Zhen and others. Expressing gratitude for the  invitation, President Sarkissian highlighted the importance of the  vision. "It all starts with a vision, a dream. I remember the 1990s  when I first came here.  It was a small town in the center of  Kazakhstan. It looked like a more beautiful area than the city. But  it was a dream, a vision that was created and realized by President  Nazarbayev. Only a few decades have passed. Look what happened to  your dream and vision. Now we are in a beautiful city, Nur-Sultan,  which is in some way the heart of Eurasia. Indeed, everything begins  with a vision, " the RA President stated.  One of the visions,  according to the president, concerns the world in which people want  to live in the next 20-30 years. "Do we want to live in a world that  is divided, where there are more and more Berlin walls, or a world  that is truly global? We are already seeing an integrated global  world, from which there is no way out. And this started not twenty  but hundreds of years ago, when the first Silk Road was built.  What  is our vision for the next 20-30 years? To think about it, we have to  go back to 20-30 years to see where we were. Did we have small  devices that control our life today? - from family photos to current  information and financial analysis? And what will happen in 20-30  years, when we use artificial intelligence, which will completely  change, for example, our health care? Where will we be, when the  connection is completely different, with higher quality, when all  industrial products are associated with artificial intelligence and  excellent information management? Will we be afraid of this? The  answer is no, because these are really great advantages. They will  not reduce the number of jobs in the world, on the contrary, they  will dramatically increase. This is a new era. This is a world that  should be welcomed.  Are we ready for this? I am not sure one hundred  percent. Can we be ready for this? One hundred percent sure, yes. We  should start preparing and focusing on education, preparing our  children for the next stage of the 21st century, "President  Sarkissian stressed.

According to him, in the 21st century, companies dealing with  information and high technologies concentrate on artificial  intelligence, and not on companies engaged in natural resources. 

Speaking about the place of Armenia in the global world, he noted: "I  look to the future of my state and people with positive emotions and  visions. Our small country, the Republic of Armenia, is home to a  global nation, as we Armenians live in Russia, Los Angeles- the  largest city inhabited by Armenians after Yerevan, millions of  Armenians live in France, they live in Singapore in Argentina.  We  have a small country, but we are a global nation. We are part of the  21st century, integrated internationally. And I urge everyone to do  the same to be global. "
