ArmInfo. According to a survey of Gallup international, 53.3% of Yerevan residents positively assess the changes in the capital of Armenia over the past year. Director of  the Gallup International Association in Armenia Aram Navasardyan  stated this on December 27 at a press conference.

He noted that 13.1% of the residents of the capital estimated the  changes in Yerevan rather negatively, 13.5% found it difficult to  answer this question, 8.1% rated the changes completely negative, and  finally, 11.8% fully positively assessed the changes that occurred in  Yerevan. As for what issues in the opinion of the residents of the  capital need to be solved in Yerevan first of all, 60.6% answered  that the issue of garbage collection and cleanliness in the capital  needs to be resolved, meanwhile, in 2017 this issue was raised 29,  1%. The number of Yerevan residents dissatisfied with the work of  public transport also increased, reaching 39.0%, instead of 34.3% of  2017. The number of dissatisfied with environmental issues in 2018,  by contrast, decreased and amounted to 9.5%, instead of 12.4% in  2017. The citizens of Yerevan considered the next problem the issue  of city lighting - 4.2% in 2018, in 2017 the number of citizens  dissatisfied with city lighting was 8.6%.

The problem of traffic jams was raised by 3.3%, while in 2017 this  problem was disturbing 7.3% of the population. Another problem  requiring immediate solution is considered by the people of Yerevan  to be a issue related to utility payments, the number of dissatisfied  was 2.7%, instead of 6.8% in 2017. 3.3% of Yerevan residents raised  the problem of illegal construction; in 2017 the percentage of those  who are dissatisfied was 5.5%. 2.5% of Yerevan residents voiced their  dissatisfaction with the lack of green areas in the city; in 2017,  this issue was raised by 3.4% of the population of the capital.  Finally, 2.5% of the residents of the capital raised the issue of  road asphalting, in 2017; this issue was raised by 2.1% of Yerevan  residents.

Among the positive changes, 6.6% of people in Yerevan indicated parks  improvement, while in 2017, positive changes in this area were  noticed by 20.2%. 5.1% note that in 2018 children's playgrounds were  built, while in 2017 the number of citizens satisfied with these  issues was 18.7%. 4.2% appreciated the improvement of courtyards; the  number of citizens satisfied with this circumstance in 2017 was  17.6%.  2.5% noticed that in 2018 the number of green areas  increased, in 2017 the number of satisfied ones was 16.5%. Among the  respondents, 2.8% noted that in 2018 Yerevan became more comfortable,  more beautiful, in 2017, 15.3% noted similar changes. 31.9%  considered that no positive changes were made in Yerevan last year,  while in 2017 only 12.3% did not see any changes in the city.

On a 5-point scale, the work of public transport was awarded 2.6  points; the mood of Yerevan residents in this regard has hardly  changed since last year (2.5). Also, the number of people satisfied  with cleanliness in the city has decreased - 2.4 balls instead of 2.9  2017. The work of the security sector was awarded 3.9 points, instead  of 3.6 years spent.

Concerning the prospects for the development of tourism, 34.1%  highlighted the problem of ensuring cleanliness in the city. 20.1%  consider high prices for services a problem, 13.8% lack of preserved  historical and architectural buildings and monuments. 12.6% noted  that it is necessary to increase the number of green areas. 11.8% of  Yerevan residents considered that for the development of tourism it  is necessary to restore Old Yerevan. 10.8% considered it necessary to  increase the number of public toilets.  7.5% believe that in order to  develop tourism it is necessary to increase the number of  entertainment facilities. 4.8% favor an increase in the number of  attractions. 3.8% said that for the development of tourism it is  necessary to improve the coverage. 16.1% found it difficult to answer  this question. 20.4% gave other answers.

To the issue of how citizens as a whole assess the appearance of  Yerevan, 2.7%, answered very badly, rather badly - 14.6%, rather  goodly - 61.5%, very goodly - 20.3%, and finally, 1.0 % found it  difficult to answer this question.

When asked if the residents of the capital consider it justified that  the New Year tree ordered by the mayor of the city Hayk Marutyan  costs $ 150,000, 13.3% said that this is a completely unreasonable  waste. 12.5% said that most likely this waste was not justified,  25.9% said that it was rather justified. 44.7% stressed that the tree  was worth its money, and finally, 3.7% found it difficult to answer  this question.

To note, in this survey, which was conducted by telephone, from  December 20 to 25, 2018, 602 Yerevan citizens took part.
