ArmInfo.The charges against the former director of the medical center "Grigor Lusavorich" Ara Minasyan of embezzlement and fraud are unfounded. This is stated in the statement of Minasyan's lawyers, received by ArmInfo.
According to the lawyers, it is not permissible to use the term "embezzlement" in the charges against Minasyan, since the funds allocated to the states in the framework of the social insurance program for government employees are transferred to a state medical institution, and not to an individual. According to the lawyers, the accusation of "fraud" is also unfounded, since there is no evidence that the amounts indicated in the statement of the investigating body were appropriated by Minasyan. "It is also not clear by what mechanisms the investigating body counted the amount of 426,343,650 drams as damage to the state. One could speak about this after questioning dozens of persons after various examinations, which was not done during the investigation. Obviously the dissemination of such a statement by the investigative body before the court's verdict was intended to influence the court when the verdict was rendered, "the statement reads.
As for Minasyan's search for a wanted list, then, as his defense notes, there was also no reason for this, since the investigating authority had not previously summoned him for questioning as a defendant. In this context, lawyers say they will do everything possible within the framework of the law to restore the honest name of Minasyan, his violated rights, as well as bringing to justice the perpetrators of the law.
To note yesterday, the court of general jurisdiction rejected the request of the investigative body to arrest Minasyan due to insufficient grounds.

Minasyan, according to the SC, is hiding from the investigation, his location is not known. Wanted list regarding him. The investigation submitted a petition to the court for election in respect of Minasyan as a measure of restraint of arrest. The investigation continues. It should be noted that Ara Minasyan is the father of the son-in-law of the third Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan Mikael Minasyan, who was recalled from the post of RA Ambassador to the Vatican, Portugal and Malta.
