Brother of third RA President is ready to "donate" part of his means for Armenia`s prosperity

ArmInfo. The brother of the  third president of Armenia, Alexander Sargsyan, today made a  statement regarding the criminal prosecutions against him, the  attitude of his family members, and the call of Prime Minister Nikol  Pashinyan "to return $ 30 million stored in one of the Armenian banks  to the RA budget." In particular, Sargsyan said: "On September 11,  Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan openly and  publicly voiced threats against the citizen of the Republic of  Armenia Alexander Sargsyan and gave me a week to return legally the  funds owned by me to the state budget. Of course, Pashinyan did not  say anything about why and on what basis I should return this money  to the treasury.

Before making such a statement, the Prime Minister should, first of  all, state that according to the required procedures it was  established that the money in my bank account was acquired illegally,  and also note that they were stolen from the state budget and,  therefore, should be returned. However, Nikol Pashinyan not only did  not make such statements, but, on the contrary, on August 17, in his  speech at the regular  rally, he again mentioned my bank account: "It  is very difficult to conduct an investigation into the financial  resources that are on this account, since this person for many years,  formally was not a state employee, therefore he did not submit  declarations, and in a formal sense there is a difficulty in  investigating and confiscating them in accordance with the procedure  established by law. " In this statement, Nikol Pashinyan emphasized  two important aspects: first, I have not been a government official  for many years, thus it is confirmed that I have nothing to do with  the state budget of the Republic of Armenia, and it is surprising why  the Prime Minister threatens to return this money to the state  budget. Secondly, this amount is not subject to recovery in the  manner prescribed by law. I think everyone understands that if  someone has stolen money illegally or by criminal means, then the  laws in force in Armenia allow confiscating these amounts, and vice  versa - the funds belonging to someone can not be charged unless it  is confirmed that these funds are illegal.  It turns out that the  Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan was well aware that I did  not make this money illegally and that they can not be confiscated  according to the law, but because of the negative attitude towards  me, using his position he threatens me that he will make me to return  the money to the treasury. I am sure that both he and the law  enforcement agencies understand well how the prime minister's actions  are characterized. In this context, the fact raises concerns that the  banking secrecy is violated and the Prime Minister of the Republic of  Armenia violating the established procedure, has information not only  about my account, but also unlawfully discloses this information.

And if he has such information in violation of the law, he should  also be well aware of the fact that in 1985- 1995, I had been running  a business in the Russian Federation and returned to Armenia with a  large sum, after which I did not stop working. At the same time, I am  sure that Nikol Pashinyan knows very well that instead of withdrawing  my money legally from Armenia, I invested them in the banking system  of Armenia, making a definite contribution to the development of the  banking system and the economy of the country. For many years, I  received a legitimate interest, which is a significant part of the  amount that is in my bank account, and the other significant part has  accumulated from the activities of enterprises owned by me (not 50%).  Now I do not want to talk about the persecution of law enforcement  bodies against me and my family members, illegal arrests on my  property and bank accounts, and also about the huge damage caused to  me by these actions. I call on the Prime Minister to call on the  state bodies to return to the legal field, immediately return the  property and money belonging to me and my family, and to lift the  arrest from my means and funds of my family.

At the same time, I publicly declare that as soon as the  abovementioned actions are taken I am ready to donate some of my  money as a charity to a sector chosen by me for its development and  for the benefit of a strong homeland, "the statement reads.
