Artak Zeynalyan: Publication of Manvel Grigoryan`s photo is a  violation of rights and worthy of condemnation

ArmInfo.Publication of the photo of General Manvel Grigoryan made in the remand prison is a violation of his rights and worthy of condemnation, Justice Minister Artak  Zeynalyan told journalists.

The Minister noted that even if the convict gives his consent to be  photographed and to publish this photo, the media should think  carefully about whether it is worth publishing this photo. "The thing  is that the will of the prisoner was not freely formed, and based on  this principle, convicts do not have the right to vote." It was  impossible to photograph, it was impossible to publish a photograph,  regardless of sympathy or antipathy towards this person, " , that on  his instructions now is carried out an official investigation of this  fact. Zeynalyan also noted that this photo was taken not in the  Yerevan-Kentron penitentiary , but much earlier, in places for  detainees.  Photo Manvel Grigoryan was published in the publication  "Haykakan Zhamanak" and caused a wave of criticism. Then the photo  was deleted, and the editorial office of the newspaper brought a  public apology.  On June 16, the Armenian MP from the RPA, General  Manvel Grigoryan was detained by the National Security Service of  Armenia. During the searches, the SNB operatives found and seized a  large number of weapons and ammunition, in addition to that, a large  arsenal of unregistered weapons, up to mortars, and rations for  soldiers collected by schoolchildren was found in the mansion and at  the country house. On June 19, the Yerevan Court of First Instance  decided to apply a preventive measure against Grigoryan in the form  of arrest for a period of 2 months. However, on August 17 Grigoryan's  lawyer stated that the arrest of his ward was extended for another 2  months.
