Acting Executive Director of the Hayastan All-Armenian Fund appealed  to donors with an open letter

ArmInfo. Acting Executive Director of the Hayastan All-Armenian Fund Petros Terzyan appealed to the donors with an open letter.

According to the press service of the Foundation, the letter reads in  part: "My first step was a complete audit of the fund's accounts,  which revealed that the funds used for personal purposes by the  former executive director of the fund were returned within a short  period of time. Nevertheless, as a result of the checks, the  vulnerability of the monitoring system of the accounts of the Fund  was revealed, and therefore I demanded immediate actions to  strengthen control, "said Terzyan, stating that in the coming days a  contest of candidates for the post of performers will be announced  The elections will be held on September 10.

Terzyan also noted that over the last 26 years, the Fund's activities  were transparent and corresponded to international standards. "A huge  number of programs have been implemented, and the Foundation  continues its activities to this day, currently about 60 projects are  being implemented, Armenia and Artsakh need this nationwide  structure." I am convinced that the Fund will overcome difficulties  and, with the support of donors, implement the necessary innovative  reforms that will allow important and relevant programs for the  citizens of Armenia and Artsakh. "

It should be noted that on July 3, the director of the Hayastan Fund,  Ara Vardanyan, was detained by the representatives of the National  Security Service. According to the NSS, the director of the fund  under pressure admitted that he owned the credit card granted to the  fund with a credit line of 25 million drams, which he used for  personal purposes, including during bets in online casinos. However,  Vardanyan also noted that he returned the money spent with the credit  card. From 2016 to 2018, Vardanyan listed about 130 million drams in  on-line casinos. It should be noted that donations were collected in  the diaspora by means of telethon and in other ways, and the fund for  these funds carried out social programs in Armenia and Artsakh.  According to the report in 2017, the fund spent more than 5 billion  700 million drams. In connection with this scandal on July 10 Ara  Vardanyan resigned.
