Lavrov: If the parties of Karabakh conflict agree on return of  Nagorno-Karabakh to negotiating table, we will respect this decision 

ArmInfo. The position of Russia  on the Nagorno-Karabakh settlement remained unchanged. On June 7, in  Moscow at a joint press conference with Armenian Foreign Minister  Zohrab Mnatsakanyan, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stated,  answering the question what is the position of the Russian Federation  on the return of Artsakh to the negotiating table.

"It has always been the position of resolving the issue through the  OSCE Minsk Group, which Armenia is also a participant in Azerbaijan  and other countries along with Azerbaijan and other countries.We are  convinced that this is the best format and, as one of the three  co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group, together with the French and  Americans, general, interested, non-contradictory line on creating  conditions that would allow Baku and Yerevan to agree, "the Russian  minister said. At the same time, he stressed that this work has been  going on for many years, there were different stages, and in some of  them, representatives of Nagorno-Karabakh participated in this  process. Then, according to Lavrov, as agreed by the parties, the  format of the negotiations was changed and now it is as it is.

"By the way, Mr. Popov (Russian co-chairman - editor's notes) said  that they (the representatives of Nagorno-Karabakh - editor's notes)  should return, and if the parties agree, at some stage that Nagorno-  Karabakh will be represented at the talks, this will be their  decision, and we will respect it., "Lavrov said.
