ArmInfo. On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the First Republic, the festive events in Sardarapat, attended by the Presidents of Armenia and Artsakh, the Prime Minister and Catholicos of All Armenians Garegin II, were absent from the Speaker of the National Assembly Ara Babloyan.
As the deputy head of the National Assembly apparatus Arsen Babayan reports, the whole point is that Ara Babloyan was not invited to the festive events as the chairman of the Armenian parliament. Babayan said that in previous years the delegation from the National Assembly of Armenia participated in the festive events in full force, but this year the issue was approached differently. "The chairmen of the standing committees were not invited, as well as invitations to the vice speakers and the chairman of the parliament were not invited, Ara Babloyan was invited to these events among the 3 deputies from the Republican Party.
Then, the Office of the Parliament tried to clarify the protocol of participation of the Speaker of the National Assembly in the festive events, since previously the official part of the event was always held with the participation of the President, the Speaker of the Parliament, and the Prime Minister. But this year the Apparatus of the Parliament was informed that there will not be a Speaker of the National Assembly in the said three this year.
The Chairman of the National Assembly believes that it is clear that there is an unequal attitude towards the legislative power, "concluded Arsen Babayan. In his turn, the deputy of the Republican Party faction Armen Ashotyan on his Facebook page, in connection with this incident, made the following entry: "The main symbols of the day of the formation of the First Republic and victory in the Sardarapat battle were unity. Today's holiday is not someone's property, holiday "class", or someone's personal or family holiday. The day that symbolizes the restoration of the state, is also the days of reassessment and evaluation of state institutions, regardless of the heroes of the day, actors and "new realities." It's amazing that people who consider themselves adequate, try to justify the fact that the National Assembly's participation in festive events was failed, and, unfortunately, such a deliberate approach contradicts both the advice of the day, unity, and all calls for "love and solidarity."
