Ambassador: Parliament of Bulgaria to ratify Armenia-EU framework  agreement in the near future

ArmInfo. Bulgaria congratulates Armenia on the formation of a new government headed by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. This was announced on May 15 by Maria Pavlova Tsotsorkova-Kaymaktchieva, Bulgaria's Ambassador to Armenia, at the  celebration of the Day of Courage and the Bulgarian Army.  "As a country presiding in the EU Council, Bulgaria wishes Armenia good luck in reforming the building of a democratic and prosperous society," the ambassador said.

However, she noted that every year in Bulgaria on May 6, celebrate  the Day of Courage and the Bulgarian Army, or as it is customary to  call the people of St. George's Day. According to her, every year on  this day the Bulgarian people pay tribute to the defense forces. "The  missions and commitments of Bulgaria's Armed Forces today fully  reflect the interests of our country and the priorities of defense  policy. The main mission and priority task of our army is to ensure  the sovereignty, territorial integrity and national unity of  Bulgaria. As a member of NATO and the EU, Bulgaria is part of the  security of the collective union.

Implementing a balanced and consistent foreign policy, Bulgaria can  confidently consider itself to be one of the security factors of  South-Eastern Europe and the Black Sea region. On May 17, Sofia will  host a summit of the EU Council chaired by Bulgaria, whose goal is to  confirm the European prospects of the Western Balkans and strengthen  it from its relations with the European Union, "Pavlova said.

At the same time, the Bulgarian diplomat stressed that the Bulgarian  Chairmanship supports further deepening of cooperation with the  Eastern Partnership countries. "As for Armenia, we welcome the  readiness of the new government of the Republic of Armenia to  maintain cooperation with the EU through the detailed implementation  of the agreement on a comprehensive and expanded partnership.

In this regard, I am pleased to inform you that the Bulgarian  parliament will soon ratify the Armenia-EU framework agreement, "the  ambassador concluded.
