Kamian: USA looks forward for  close cooperation with the new  Government of Armenia

He also welcomed the actions of the police and citizens exercising  their right to peaceful assembly, for showing restraint and ensuring  the peaceful nature of the rallies in the last two weeks. According  to Kamian, it is also encouraging that there has been no serious  violence in the past few weeks.  "We continue to call on all parties  to exercise restraint and to avoid any escalation of the situation  and violent actions.We note that the authorities have begun  investigations into several incidents of violence against journalists  and demonstrators and expect a full and transparent legal process on  these incidents" , said the Charge d'Affaires ad interim of the US at  the OSCE.

In conclusion, Kamian called on Armenia to continue its interaction  with the OSCE. According to him, Armenia's initiative to inform the  OSCE Permanent Council about the events in the country is a positive  step. "Armenia's cooperation program is a valuable mechanism for the  OSCE in terms of country's support, the United States is ready to  consider additional assistance to the OSCE," Kamian summed up.
