US Congressmen requested from Establishment the recognition of  Armenian Genocide

ArmInfo. US Congressmen appealed to the leadership of the country with a request to recognize the Armenian Genocide.

Congressman Smith, in particular, stressed that it is high time to  recognize the Armenian Genocide. "The Armenian people are the only  people subjected to genocide, which is not recognized and denied by  the country that committed it. We must not succumb to the  provocations of Turkey. Justice must triumph," said Congressman.  Senator Menendez, stressed that the US should not place its national  interests above the universal. Otherwise, we cannot respect ourselves  as a people. We must recognize the Armenian Genocide."

Congressman Adam Schiff also stated that the denial of the Armenian  Genocide does not come from the interests of the US or Turkey. He  expressed the hope that US President Donald Trump will nevertheless  recognize the Armenian Genocide. Congressman Frank Pallone said not  only about support for the recognition of the Armenian Genocide, but  also for Armenia's independence.

In addition, he raised the issue of the need to avoid double taxation  and the resumption of the program "Millennium Challenges". The  participants of the meeting also touched upon pogroms of Armenians in  the Azerbaijani cities of Sumgait, Baku and Kirovabad.
