Russian expert: There can be no word on the re-export of Russian  S-400 systems from Turkey to Azerbaijan

On April 18, during a video  bridge from Moscow, Russian military expert Igor Korotchenko said, referring to the possible re-export of Russian weapons from Turkey to Azerbaijan.

According to him, this is due to the fact that a country that has or  will seem to have a decisive military and technical superiority,  superiority in terms of the availability of a fleet of military  equipment, can succumb to inadequate political decisions and the  resumption of hostilities. "Therefore, it is extremely important for  us that the balance of power between Armenia and Azerbaijan is  preserved, this is the basis of peace, the basis of the existing  status quo and the basis of political dialogue, and the search for  diplomatic solutions." As long as parity exists between Armenia and  Azerbaijan, it works for the good and Yerevan, and Baku, as it  excludes a large-scale war," he said, and in this context added that  Russia is well aware that this is the basis for avoiding hostilities  and their terrible consequences, as it was in the relevant period of  time.

At the same time, speaking of arms supplies to Turkey, Korotchenko  stressed that the Turkish side will receive a limited number of S-400  air defense systems, in the order of two divisions. The expert also  stressed that speech about the transfer of know-how of technologies  does not go in principle. "Turkey is provided with an end-user  certificate that excludes the transmission of these systems to  anyone, that is, they will only be used by Erdogan within the air  defense organization, in this case, I understand Istanbul and Ankara  these systems, including in Azerbaijan, do not speak in principle,"  said the Russian military expert.

Speaking about further directions of purchases, he stated that  Azerbaijan was seriously considering contacts with Israel, in  particular, regarding obtaining advanced technologies related to the  use of so-called barrage ammunition, which were also used during the  "four-day" April war. Korotchenko, recalled that these are drone  drones of one-time use. "Compact kamikaze drones, relatively  speaking, weapons of one-time use, and such systems, of course, pose  new challenges to the air defense of both Nagorno-Karabakh and  Armenia," he said. At the same time, the expert added that the  Russian side possesses complexes capable of withstanding these small  and unobtrusive UAVs - these are the "Pantsir-C1" complexes, which  compete effectively against such goals. As he said, there is also  more serious, however and more expensive system- ZRK "Tor-M2" of  various modifications. "But there are systems that allow you to deal  with this kind of goals, in this case, I believe, within the same  lines of credit that the Russian side provided to Armenia, your  military can make certain purchases based on real assessment and  threat in the air space that exist for the RA, "the military expert  concluded.
