CSTO Secretary General: CSTO training "Unbreakable brotherhood-2017"  - is a serious planned event

ArmInfo. The CSTO exercise "The Unbreakable Brotherhood- 2017" is a serious planned event. On October 9, Yuri Khachaturov, Secretary General of the Collective  Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), stated at the Baghramyan training ground on the fields of the opening of the CSTO Collective Rapid Deployment (CSRD) exercise "Interaction 2017".

The CSTO secretary-general reminded that the exercises are held in  several stages and started from the exercise of the intelligence  forces of the Organization of the 2017 Search in Rostov-on-Don, and  then moved to the territory of Armenia. "The training is conducted  under the command of the commander of the Southern Military District.  Why do you ask the Southern Military District when the training take  place on the territory of Armenia? Because it is possible to use such  means in battles that are only in Russia and they can be controlled  only by Russians. Well, for example, the divisional OTRK Iskander.  After the completion of these ones, there will be peacekeeping  training that will be held on the territory of Kazakhstan,"  Khachaturov said.

Speaking about the interaction between the armed forces of the CSTO  member countries, the Secretary General noted that the troops of the  participating states are constantly meeting at different kinds of  events and excellent cooperation has been established between them.

He also noted that during the exercises it is planned to hold both  new events and chasing old ones.  Khachaturov also stressed that the  CSTO, the police and the MES closely cooperate. "The task of the CSTO  is not only military, it is the fight against drug trafficking,  illegal money turnover, liquidation of the consequences of accidents  in the countries of the Organization. Consequently, without close  cooperation with the above structures, it is not possible to decide  the issues," the Secretary General said.

Chief of the General Staff of Armenia Movses Hakobyan noted that  according to the plan of cooperation, military contingents of all six  countries participating in the CSTO participate in joint exercises on  the territory of Armenia in the Caucasian region. "Today we witnessed  the launch of the exercise "Interaction- 2017 ", all the preparatory  work for a full-fledged exercise conducted. Serious work was carried  out with the command and staff, preparatory work was carried out with  the troops of the participants of the exercises," Hakobyan said. At  the same time, he noted that the main goal is the implementation of  preventive measures to prevent possible threats in the Caucasus  region, as well as the development of special measures to neutralize  and destroy the threat in our region.
